Clarification needed on posting images

Hi,

I am having trouble posting an image directly into a thread.

I click on the image button and then it prompts me with

[IMG]xxx[IMG] and the open field gives you the http://

here is were I get confused.

I tried copying and pasting the complete address of a picture I had uploaded into my gallery,
but all I got was a white box with a red x in it.

I tried typing out: [IMG] inserting photo address here [IMG]
in the open field screen, but that didn’t work.

go down below the big square where you type; to where it says Attach File,click on Browse.then upload from your hard drive.

When doing the image, you need to have a closing tag such as [/IMG], this comes after the URL, then before it, you put the regular [IMG] tag. More info about the vB code can be seen at http://www.unicyclist.com/forums/misc.php?action=bbcode

How about linking to an image on the gallery, from another website?

EDIT: The other website does the “downloading image from www.unicyclist.com/itemid....blah” but still doesn’t show the image.
