I’ve not spent much time practicing lately, but finally managed to get out Wednesday. Took a while to get back to where I was up to, and in the process fell sideways and bruised my hip slightly.
This made me start looking at using padded shorts for learning.
However, I was in the local DIY store and spotted these by the entrance.

They are knee pads made of very soft rubber, are only about half an inch thick, and designed to fit into knee pockets of work trousers, but I thought they would do as hip protectors if pushed down the sides of my cycling shorts.
Tried them today and they work great,
I soon forgot I was wearing them, as they only weigh a few grams, and articulate in several directions.
Just thought I’d pass it on to those like me, who don’t really want the full padded shorts (or the cost).
