Century ride

This note is going to the unicycle news group as well as to my club
members, so pardon any redundancy.

The annual Century Ride is coming soon. The ride encompasses all five of
NYC’s boroughs, tho shorter rides are available. Last year, I was able to
get 80 miles in before I had to rush off to a party, which may have been a
good thing, since I was pretty tired and was able to skip the somewhat
hilly Bronx section.

Here are some details. Note that if five or more of us want to do the
ride, we can register (and maybe ride) as a group, which saves a bit of
cash and could be cool. It could also mean some nice coverage for the
group. I am not sure if any unicyclist has ever completed the ride, which
would have been much harder to do before Cokers.

GROUP FEES
T.A. members, $25 each, non-members $35 each. Groups consist of a minimum
of five riders registering under the group leader’s name. No group
registration after Aug. 26.
All riders start and finish in Central Park near 110th Street and Lenox
Avenue.
5 rest stops provide riders food and assistance.
Day-of-event registration is available for an additional $5 over late
registration rates.
All who register before August 27th will receive their ride guide and
pin-on rectangular ride bib with detachable tags in the mail.
All information packets will be mailed out to pre-registrants on August
28. Pre-registration ends September 6.
Those registering after August 26 will pick up their ride packet on the
day of the event. Pre-register before this date for express roll-through
check-in.

free to contact me with questions.

Out-of-towners may want a place to stay in NYC, and I may be able to
provide one or more spots, so please let me know well in advance.
