This doesn’t include Kris Holm, Nahtan Hoover, John Foss, Lars Clausen or the rest of them.
OH okay, story time:
my city is really small, like sub-20,000 people, so we never get big people to come and do stuff and stuff. But like five years ago, before the Dixie Chicks were big and famous, they came here! But I didn’t know it, I thought they were just some garage band, and at the time I think they were… Cool, huh?
Oh, and my dad flies a lot, and he’s been on a plane with Muhammed Ali, John Glenn, Bill Nye the Science Guy, and someone else.
Not all at once, on the same plane, at the same time. Different planes.
Celebrities
Well… kinda celebrities… I met Seamus Blackley when he was at Looking Glass Studios (just after releasing Flight Unlimited I)… He later became well known in computer gaming circles as being the force behind (or to blame) for the XBox existing…
And I was about 5 feet from Linus Torvalds at the Ottawa Linux Symposium last month 
In less geeky areas, my half brother’s ex-wife is the step sister of Jon Davis, the lead singer of Korn… but I never met him
Oh, and I’ve met the Planet Smashers a couple times!
Steve Martin’s nephew married my friend’s sister. He goes over to her house at Christmas time.
My friend’s scout master was the guy in Star Trek IV who got slapped by the mom from 7th Heaven.
So now it’s just a matter of going to her house on Christmas and getting in touch with the scout master.
I don’t see why I can’t respond. I’ve been around some celebs.
These are some I can think of:
Jay Leno - Saw at a small comedy club on Long Island in 1984, then sat with him at a table while he talked with John Jenack about their company Comedy All Ways.
Greg LeMond - Met at autograph signing at Brugger’s Bagels in Davis, CA. This was the weekend before the first MUni Weekend (1996). Got a picture with him, holding up a MUni Weekend flyer.
John Lithgow - David Ramos and I were riding in Central Park (NY) and he and his family came by in a hansome cab. We showed off for them for a minute, then I asked him about his appearance in Barnum on Broadway in the 70s.
Dr. Claude Shannon - (USA founder and famous “brain” from the early days of computing) met him at 1983 IJA festival in Purchase, NY
Prince - Walked behind him with one or two riders from TCUC at Twin Cities Airport in 1996. When we figured out it was Prince and not a well-dressed woman, he and his bodyguard speeded up and headed down the jetway.
Nelson Vails - Bronze medalist from 1984 Olympics, on the velodrome. Rode with him in a 1986 fundraising ride for the Statue of Liberty. Yes, with a few thousand other people, but we unicyclists actually rode with him at the beginning of the ride, in front of everyone else. The other unicyclists were Ken Fuchs and Michelle Cline.
Those are the ones I can think of at the moment.

I went to my 20 year class reunion. I was tlaking with a good friend of mine from HS that I hadn’t spoken to in a while. He is a celeb of sorts. www.devilpig.com Any David was telling a story about this kid we used to pick on in High School. He was sort of spastic, and kind of brought it on himself. I thought about it a while and it all came clear to me. His name was Andy Dick. Sure enough I went home and looked at my annual, and there he was. No mistaking it.
Robert Pralgo… B movie actor, and several national Television ads. The one I see now is a Selsen Blue commercial. Also graduated with.
Michele Edison… had a small part in many movies. Waynes World for one. Another person from my High school.
Lenny Herb… I was a year older than him in High School. Played baseball together. He was the guy who ran with Forrest Gump in the movie when Forrest did the whole running across the USA thing. At the end he says “So what are we supposed to do know?”
Rand McNally Not the map guy. The Nuclear Physist that was responsible for stopping Russia from doing a above ground test of a Hydrogen bomb. The movie State of Emergncy (Chain Reaction 1983) was based on his life. I was in his granddaughters wedding in Oak Ridge, TN. She married my best friend.
Justin Timberlake’s great uncle is the janitor at my school

I have met a lot of people. I can’t even come close to thinking of all of them. Most are not the A list celebs that everyone would know, but celebs non the less.

When I was about 2 Buddy Hackett used to put me on his lap at a diner in Fort Lee, NJ. (Still skeeves me out to this day)
My brother’s long time partner is Sharon Wood, a twice academy award nominated documentary film maker. (The Celluloid Closet and Tell the Truth and Run: George Seldes and the American Press)
My parents had a business partner who was an unindicted co-conspirator in the Rosenberg Case. (Yes, the FBI checked them out and cleared them).
Linda Jenese (sic?), the 1972 Socialist candidate for president was our next door neighbor for a while. (Yes, the FBI broke into our apartment and found nothing of interest).
My mother’s cousin worked as a secretary for Frank Zappa.
My mother was invited, and declined, to be photographed by Diane Arbus.
Ed Koch as a young lawyer and moderator of community gathering at the Judson Memorial Church in Greenwich Village regularly cut my father off when he tried to speak.
William Steig was a regular visitor to our apartment from 1963 - 1965.
I was good friends with the son of Harold Shapinsky who worked in obscurity until his discovery as a great abstract impressionist painter in 1980s. His work now hangs in museums including the Tate Gallery in London.
I rode an elevator once with Truman Capote.
I sat next to Jeanine Garofalo and Ben Stiller in, where else, a Starbucks in NYC.
My daughter is a direct descendant of Roger Williams, founder of Rhode Island.
I have a connection with the Bongiovi family, but to respect their privacy would rather not say how.
Kim Hunter’s son was friends with my brother. they frequently cracked open a walnuts with her academy award.
Santa Claus is an annual visitor to my home.
I was once in the same building as Pete Townsend, John Entwhistle, Keith Moon, and Roger Daltry, incredibly all at the same time.

I totally forgot all the people I have met through when I worked in a Law Firm and my first wife was an accountant for an entertainment law firm.(Katz, Cherry & Cohen). Too many to list. Half the time I would see someone come in and new they were famous, but had no idea who they were.
Jesse James-He was at a restaurant wearing a west cost choppers shirt.
Don Garlets-Somekind of great race car driver. You can see him in alot of old guiness world reacord books. He’s my grandpa’s cousin or something.
Marsha Yeggar-My dad used to do speed skating and she was their coach. I think she used to be a judge in the X games but stoppped because the people that ran the X games made the courses more narrow to make the skaters wreck.
My neighbor was on the the cheerlearders version of dog eat dog.
My dad went to high school and coolege with a guy that is now a Millionaire. Greg something. We still go to his small mansion/real big house during the summer.
My private saxaphone teacher used to play on a cruise line and met Mickey from the Monkeys.
Somekind (sic) of great race car driver? Cousin or something? If he’s related to you, show some respect. Do some research on “Big Daddy”. Great is an understatement…he ruled the top fuel eliminator world in both design and driving. In his prime, there wasn’t a human on earth that could keep up with him.

I got to meet all four of the Ninja Turtles(In their movie costumes) and 2 footsoldiers. When I took Aikido at a local YMCA when i was 8 my teacher told us about how he was a footsoldier in the third movie where they travel back in time to ancient China. Anyways the Turtles were intown, so he called in a favor and our whole class got to meet them! It was like a wondefully dreamy wonderful dream.
Sorry I didn’t know he was that amazing. One day my dad just mentioned how you know you’re related to a great race car driver. i just now talked to him and he told me about how he was the greatest drag racer alive.
What I found really cool on that web site was going through the evolution of all the Swamp Rat dragsters, and seeing how he improved the designs–and speeds–as he went along through the years. Between the first models and the SR34, speed increased by well over 100mph.

-I met “Dawn” the two women singers from Tony Orlando and Dawn in an elevator at The Concord resort in the Poconos.
-I got (coach) Phil Jackson into a club in Salt Lake City where I was a member and he was not.
When I was in high school–eons ago–I competed against a gymnast named Mark Caso. Well, competed is an overstatement…we were in meets together on opposing teams where he regularly kicked my butt. He was national caliber, I was a hack. Anyway, he went on to become a stunt double, as well as staring as Leonardo in the original early-90’s Ninja Turtles movie.
ive met a lot of political peeps, like john kerry, john warner (gov of va and former potential vice president choice), and others, but i dont know if that counts.
i dont know if ive met anyone from the entertainment industry though.
BUT my friend met the voice of cleveland from family guy!!!
I sold Clarissa Dickson-Wright (Two Fat Ladies) an ice-cream.
And I saw the woman who plays audrey roberts off coronation street in sainsburys- she had lots of bodyguard type people…
