well, i guess it’s not ‘technically’ a rollercoaster…
That’s terrible. Just think, that could have been anybody. Any of us. We could have said goodbye to unicycles.
It must be really hard to lose your feet.
I feel bad for her. Hopefully she has a good attitude about it though, and will adapt and overcome.
omg, thats horrible. i hope they get sued blind and have to fork out a couple million to the girls family…wat a demonized ride…
This reminds me of a line from Dodgeball.
Dwight: Don’t mind that jerk. He’ll probably fall off the rollercoaster and break every bone in his body.
Kate: Nice, Dwight.
Dwight: What? I’m just saying, it happens. My cousin Rey-rey…boop! Dead.
I think this is the first roller coaster accident story that I’ve heard that wasn’t an urban legend; overall they’re not that dangerous. I know this event won’t deter me from riding any thrill rides.
Kind of reminds me of that song…
Commin’ over the first hill
I felt my body jerk
The attendant did not strap me in
I see the loop is up ahead
This is my last roller coaster ride
This is my last roller coaster ride
This is my last ride
speakin of the devil…
they just had a thing on that on the news a few seconds ago…
I got stuck on a roller coaster once.
Deja Vu at Six Flags Great America.
We were 200 feet in the air, looking straight down suspended on our stomachs. My dad timed it and we were up there for five minutes, it was sorta scary because after we would have managed to let ourselves free we would have had to climb through a few rows of seats before making a ten foot jump and trying to grab the ladder. Luckily we got off okay, but all we got was a free small soda.
Kentucky is ranked 5th in the nation for obesity. Related? Was the ride overloaded?
I apologize in advance for the poor taste of my reply.
Looks like a cable snapped and the ride dropped two feet more than it should have.
It would really really suck to loose both feet. We’re active people here and we enjoy going out and doing things like riding unicycles. Loosing both feet would really put a damper on that. You likely could still unicycle with prosthetic feet, but you wouldn’t be able to do it nearly as well. You could switch to bicycling as an activity, but even that would have its challenges without proper feet. Would be easier though than unicycling. I’ve seen bicyclists who ride with one prosthetic leg and have even seen a bicyclist who rides with one leg. Still would suck.
