Hey everyone im back. This past weeek I have been in whistler bc. It was my first outing in canada and i loved it. The area around there is great and there is a bunch of things to do, if anyone gets a chance to go to whistler definitley go, the muni there would be great, maybe some of the bc riders should organize a ride there sometime. I dont have a muni so i didnt get to hit the mountain but i brought my 20 inch so i rode the skatepark there.
Anyway i started this thread to talk about canada. I really like canada and going there for the first time my standards of how cool it would be were high, and wow it was very cool. So here are the reasons I liked canada so much.
-Loonies (haha i though this was a joke or somethin at first because loony and twoony get it?)
-Twooines
It stayed light out till like 10.00 at night which was something i thought was amazing.
-Beaver Tails (mmmm are there beaver tsils in any other parts of canada because these are amazing so try 1 if you can)
-I just do, canada is awesome i dont know why i like it so much but just the vibe is cool.
O ya did canada ever have paper 1 dollar bills?
and who;s face is on all the coins?
Haha no i didnt wait cause i knew how far away mount royal was, but I finally found out what poutine was, it was at the burger kinhg in the airport, it sounded kinda grose though.
We used to have $1 bills. They were before my time, but my 24 yr old sister has one that she kept from when they were going out of circulation.
And the Queen is on all our coins. I’m not sure why she is still there but Canada used to be under Englands rule, so I think its just out of respect or something.
Beaver Tails, oh sweet Beaver Tails (for anyone who is curious they aren’t real beaver tails they are just pastry things called beaver tails). I’ve only ever had a couple, and that was on vacation. They aren’t really an everyday thing. They are usually only sold around Touristy places, like Whistler.
It’s a “protected green” (as my Drivers ED teacher would say). It means you can make a left turn 'cause the people opposite you still have a red light. A lot of Quebec uses that instead of a green arrow… I don’t know of anywhere in the states that uses a blinking light… I know New Hampshire doesn’t, most of New England I think.
Oh, and the American Term for Beaver Tails is “fried dough.” Beaver Tails is the brand name.
Did you get to go to Tim Horton’s? Iced Cappucino Baby!!! Mmmm… Ice Cap…
I don’t know how good the poutine is outside of Quebec generally… I don’t touch the stuff… I think it’s my weird New Hampshire upbringing, but gravy and cheese curds on fries? As if Vinegar wasn’t bad enough!
Another great thing about Canada is that we can put the Canadian Flag on our backpacks, and no one will shoot at us… well, except for the Americans
Half Canuck,
Half Yank,
Has anyone seen
My other crank?
Everything was
In working order…
Dammit,
I think I left it
At the border
When I was on a school trip to Toronto they always fed us crappy food, so we’d go back to our room after, everyone would put in like $5 or something and we’d order pizza. Every time we would order from a place called 2-4-1. (Two for one) It was two pizzas in a double wide box. In the end we probably had 16 pizzas.
