i am thinking of getting a psp and wanted to know if you can watch youtube on them?
If you want, you can replace the sony firmware with custom firmware, which I think I could help you do
If you do that then I can place a program/plugin on your memory card that allows you to watch youtube videos, but I’v never had the urge to watch youtube videos on mine so I don’t know how well they work
There might be an easier way out there, but that the only way I know
Short answer: No.
Youtube does have a “moblie version” however that has some videos availible for mobile devices.
Though they have no “mobile version”, psp hackers have found a way, which iv outlines in my previous post, though I don’t know to what extent they work
I believe you can watch youtube mobile videos on the PSP without changing anything…
I’ve been wanting to do this also, but I can’t figure it out.
i had a psp and not even 4 hours later i had returned it.
its just so crappy.
psp is so cool.
and yes you can.
you have to put an customfirmware on your psp and than you need a homebrew called “psptube” http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?p=626901#post626901
what did you use it for?
im not gana say that you made the wrong choice by returning it, but the sony firmware is really restricting, making it not as good as i could be
olright. just so i made surew i was giving it enough time, i just went out and bought another psp the red value pack? and i still hate it.
its just not for me.
you can post here on the forums with it =)
It takes to long to make a post with a PSP.
What games do you have or have you tried? What kind of games do you like?
That could make all the difference.
Me, I would never spend that much money on one, but I do enjoy playing my brother’s PSP now and then.
Nintendo DS FTW!
I know I can download videos from Youtube to my iTunes/iPod with this site, but I don’t know if it will work with a PSP.
It takes absolutely ages though, I never use my PSP now… its broken now any way and doesn’t read discs any more.
the thing about custome firmware is it’s illegal, and there is a possibility of “bricking” your PSP (makeing it as useful as a brick). I received mine for my birthday last year, and being the cheapie that I am, I only bought 2 games, so I pretty much used it as a mp3 player and for the internet. If you’re a gamer, then fine, but if you really want to have a quality internet browser then get an I-pod touch. it does everything better except games (but you can buy games for it).
BTW, putting video or running any sort of flash progam on the PSP is such a hassle it’s not even worth it. Games are its strong point, don’t buy it for anything else.
i played lots of my frineds games and i love to play games on it, but im getting kind of old for that sort of thing…i dont even play an x box or anything…
putting custom firmware on a psp is not illegal, what you do with it may or may not be thought, all putting it on there does is void the warranty
I dont think there is ever an age where you get to old for video games. Its jsut if you like them or not.
