this is mainly to you people who haven’t tried riding bikes for a long time. i posted this in another thread and it made me wonder if i’m the only one who’s had this problem:
I tried to use mine last year, it was weird, but I could do it.
I wasn’t used to not having the pedals directly under me.
But my tire is now flat, and I don’t plan on fixing it, as I am getting a coker soon.
I can still ride. I don’t like it. I feel guilty when I ride it, like I am cheating on my unis. I should just sell it.
I ride them. They’re fun. They go fast.
ducks quickly to avoid punch in the face
yup…takes about ten seconds to get used to it though…
i’d be tough to do my bike commute with a really full pannier on a uni. it’s 12-ish miles. i still love all forms of self-powered vehicle.
Ive never tried
I cant ride a bike cause I never learnt
yet I can ride a unicycle
how paradoxical is that
I still bicycle. I MTB now rather than road bike.
My difficulty with mountain biking is the technical aspects. I’m a bit of a klutz on the bike. I’ll forget to swing wide around turns since I’m used to taking turns tight on the muni. My flow is wrong on the bike. I’m not that good at getting over logs that are across the trail. In general I’m just a klutz on the bike when riding singletrack. But it’s still fun.
I think the lesson here is that riding muni doesn’t translate over to being able to ride a mountain bike. Two different things.
I like bikes a lot still, but not as much as I like unicycles. I only currently own one bike, my 68cm commuter. I sold my trials bike intending to use half of the money for a new street bike and half for rent. I bought the bike and paid my rent with the money but the bike got stolen pretty soon after. Unicycles are good because they are less likely to be stolen.

WARNING BS ALERT
Well that is attribute to the fact that I can keep my unicycles in my room. My bike was too big.
fohh i thought you ment if it was on a bike rack
every time i get on my bike i am surprised by how fast i can go, and then i remember i can coast and i feel like im cheating haha…
Blake, you’ve been on a bit of a roll in the Making Big Changes department. Knock this next one off by dumping the bike, and you can call it a year.
wow that is cool. you should really try ride a bike, see how it goes, i think it should be pretty easy.
i got a nice MTB that i use to ride distances or go to school
and a bmx that i use for flatland tricks
Ill give it a shot tomorrow and i will post here on the results
I use my bike almost every day going to the train station, so there is hardly any time for me to forget how to ride it.
Unis are fun, but they can’t carry your groceries, you can’t use them when you drop off the kids at the kindergarden, and you can’t carry enough equipment for a camping trip on a unicycle.
I rode my bike a few weeks ago when my uni had a flat. It felt different but not really hard. If you want to make it difficult try with no hands it really feels dificult to control.
those of you who think coasting feels weird, try riding a fixed gear, it never coasts and there usually aren’t any brakes, but you can get going faster than a uni.
