Very nice, the only nicknames I’ve had before have been Fish (for drinking) Leg Breaker (For breaking a guys leg) and JJ… I’m not sure how I came to be compared to JJ… but it’s interesting to be sure. DYNOMITE!
How come I have the feeling that I know more things about Dane than I do about my own kids?

Last time i checked this was an open forum where people can come here, help our fellow people/unicyclists and have a good laugh everynow and again.
If it has changed to everyone hating everyone, then so be it.

My POV
You only see about 10% of an iceberg. 90% of an iceberg that is below the surface is more significant than the small amount you are aware of. It would be unfair to make a criticism without first stating the obvious. In my opinion, most people here are helpful, immediately likable, but hardly perfect. Gild would not be the exception to that statement, in spite of a single complaint I would like to register.
I can think of 100 good things to say about Gild, or most of you here, before I would ever focus on one complaint that I fully realize is of little significance in contrast to the whole. The iceberg analogy , I feel, is valid because on the surface Gild is “cool” , no doubt, but fully human. Just below the surface Gild is “chillin like a villain” and 90% stone cold cool mofo.
He gets paid to be himself on the radio. How cool is that? It is quite a task to engage, entertain, and keep the technical aspects of a live broadcast rolling with synergy and appeal without leaving “dead air”. I know this cause I clicked on a link and got a glimpse of the 90% of the “iceberg” that remains obscured below the surface.
Gild has a voice that makes Sam Elliot and James Earl Jones sound like they been taking hits off a helium tank. Professional grade. Ben Hur just would never work with the voice of Pewee Herman, ya know. It takes more than good handwriting to be Thomas Jefferson. Gild has the whole skill set to be successful and I obviously, grasp the obvious, once in a while.
It was hardly a surprise that Gild had a recent nemesis that is involved in “amateur radio” . Of course the CB faction is jealous when real talent and professionalism combine to so excellent a degree. Some of the commentary directed at Gild was really just an excuse to present a distorted collage of embryonic simplisms. A penchant for history revision by a single detractor did nothing to convict or make Gild complicit in any way to anything. Quality has a certain stand alone integrity. That Gild took great umbrage to the broad brush strokes of a blabbernazi are his inescapable hallmarks of decency.
So it is with great hesitation I mention this at all. I have no expectation that anything should change in this matter that I am about to mention. When held up to the totality, it is not really significant or reflective of anything but my own opinion.
So here it is: I don’t like the avatar Gild has of the character shooting randomly when he posts. I know it’s not real and intellectually I know how to format this conundrum in my mind to the point that is insignificant and almost nonextant, but I still just don’t like it. When I scroll down and become aware of the flash of small arms fire directed at my position, my heart rate always spikes slightly as I seek cover and fumble for a radio to call in a forward air strike to limit the withering effects of this unprovoked suppressing cover fire.
Other than this single complaint, I recommend Gild be left only slightly bothered and we all pursue more “serious” matters such as actually riding unicycles
