Hi,
I don’t ride a coker, but I was curious if anyone has ever wanted
to try to do the Furnace Creek 508 ultramarathon ride. It’s used
for deciding who rides RAAM.
Can you ride a coker while halucinating (w/o drugs)?
Here is a link that was in my local paper for anyone who wants to read about it.

yeah right
There is no way any human man can ride 508 miles in 48 hours on a unicycle. On a bike it is hard enough, but a unicycle? I would highly doubt it. Im not trying to discourage somebody from trying it, but im just saying it is practically impossible. If my math is correct, that is averaging 10.5 mph. And on a coker, the top speed is around 15-20, and 20 takes unnecesary energy, but 10.5 for 508 miles, you have to be crazy to do that. Now i bet there is someone who is crazy enough to try it just because i said it couldnt be done.
Good article though

Re: yeah right
Ahh… if only that were true!
500 might be more likely on a larger wheel… 48"+ maybe? Perhaps it may have already been done…

Wow 508 thats quite a bit… But it does make me want to get a coker to see how far indeed is possible on a unicycle.
If anyone wants to sponcer me, buy me a coker, fly me out to Cali, and be on my road team I’ll try it in 2-3 years. I cant say I’ll even come close to finnishing but I’ll sure as hell try.
Wot think bout wot might get sore
ive beeen riding for 4 yrs and i can only ride 20-50 miles then i just get 100% sadle sore.
i mean my mte went on the BMW and he sid that was fr enough!!

I agree that it would probably be impossible for a solo rider to do it on a unicycle but what about a four person team? 508 miles broken down into four people doing 127 miles each. Sounds really hard but with the right training it definately sounds doable. Just my thoughts.
Aj
what i meant was…
What i meant when i said that 20 mph takes unnesecary energy is that if you were going 508 miles, going 20 m/ph at any given time would waste much-needed energy.
Seems about time for Harper to slap a Coker wheel on that hub of his.

This one, too!
Belongs on “Rec.Sport.Unicycling”.
Get it right, people!

Ah! The sleepy voice from the mezzanine!
