Camcorder + transfer to Comp help

I bought a Panasonic PV-GS320 off ebay for $300. It has come with so many wires I have no clue where to begin. I took a one minute clip of random crap, and was trying to get it on my comp. I have absolutely no idea of what goes where.

A few questions:
How do I get raw footage onto my PC?
What editing program should I get?
I was thinking vegas 7.0 because Fredrik Justnes uses it:o .

Thanks a bunch!

When I got mine it didn’t come with cord to transfer video to my computer. I had to go out and by a 4 pin to 6 pin fire wire cable.

Somewhere among all those wires should be a little book. If not, look for a very large PDF file on the CD that hopefully is in there. You might have to read a bit.

Does you computer have FireWire? Most camcorders today still use that, not USB. Some cameras might even come with a FireWire card you can add to your PC, which is what you’ll need to do if you don’t have it.

Assuming FireWire is what you need…
