California

Woohoo! This Friday I am going to California with a friend to visit some
colleges as well as to just relax for a while.

Considering that many of you either live there or have been in SF or LA
many times, do you have any suggestions on places that are not too
well-known, but worth checking out?

We will be in San Francisco area (Berlkey, etc) for about 5 days and then
in LA for about 5 more.

Eugene

What kind of places are you interested in?

I lived in SF for 4 years and might know a few things. Now I am in Santa
Clara, which is an hour away.

Well, I’ve been all over the Berkeley area almost every day for the past
two weeks looking for a place to live, so if you’re looking for anything
specific let me know (and of course I live around here, so…)

Oh, here’s a big tip: AVOID highway 37 on Saturday and Sunday (just North
of San Rafael, Marin) and any area around it. Nascar is at the Sears
Point Raceway this weekend and the last thing you want to do is spend a
day in traffic.

If you need any directions (to other schools besides Cal, etc.) just
e-mail me.

I am not even sure  . I plan to dedicate about a day to exploring
Berkley while in San Francisco and another day visiting USC while in LA,
but otherwise, I just want to see and experience as much as possible.

What is the situation with clubs in San Francisco? Both my and friend and
I are 16 and all the good clubs in DC are only 18 and up.

I wish I could, but I am just landing in SF Saturday morning. Hope it
goes great and don’t to describe it for anyone from webdiscuss who
couldn’t attend

Thanks for the tip I am going to relying on public transit, hopefully it’s
as good as I heard it is. For those who live in California, do San
Francisco or LA’s transit system’s offer any discounts for students or
weekly passes ?

Then I guess you won’t be seeing very many schools. You can, however, take
BART to Berkeley (and you’ll end up about 2 blocks from the UC).

I remembered that! Good luck as well.

Clubs in SF? 18+ minimum. There are some all-ages parties though if you
wanna check that out
