the day after I signed up to try out their services, their page said down
for maintenance. Now it says this: http://www.excelland.com/
they were offering an easy way to offer your visitors free homepages under
your domain name kinda like bigmailbox and everyone.net does with email. yourname.jackassmail.com , etc…
That doesn’t make sense. So if I offend a search engine using my
concentric email address while trying to promote moovees.com, you think
they’ll ban concentric from their listings and not my web site?

well, if you’re building a free homepage, I don’t think search engines are
your main concern. If you are worried about search engine placement,
keywords and such, you should be paying for your own domain name and
webspace anyway, IMO.
there are still some hypermart pages in altavista (although hypermart
itself doesn’t seem to be in there)

I think homepages… Rodney said <snip>they were offering an easy way to

oh I know, but I was merely showing how search engines will ban a group of
sites based from one domain. Maybe Altavista changed or maybe it just
wouldn’t accept new submissions, but I remember that being a problem for
some or many. Gerard might remember.

What I understand should this excelland system make homepages easy
possible like
depends on the site you’re trying to create. It’s nonsense for pege.org,
but it makes 100% sense for someone trying to build an online community
and build ad impressions and brand recognition and revenue.
