Buying a long distance uni in London

I ride my 24 uni for 8 months now. I find a 24 too slow for long distance
riding. Unicycles are hard to get in France. I’m going to London next tuesday.
(Yes, there’s a connection !)

Questions :
1/ What is the good size for a long distance uni ? Is 28 enough ?
2/ Wich brand should I buy ?
3/ Where in London should I buy it ?

Thanks.

Fred

Fred, let me give you my personal opinion to all of this. I think that a 26" is
an adequete size for touring. A 28" is just a little too much work when it comes
to a slight climb of any duration, specially when outfitted with a little
shorter cranks used for touring. My current cruise ride is a Pashley Muni 26"
(British made) that I changed the seat to a Viscount and put on a street tire.
It is a very good ride, very solid, has water bottle braze ons, and looks great
as those of you who were at the NUC on Sunday may have seen. Another excellent
candidate would be the SemCycle 26" (Deluxe) The Sem has a little more flexible
frame (for a smooth ride), and very good bearing treatment (super strong). It’s
patterned after the Schwinn design (2 frame halves sandwiching the seat post).
This is definently a first class unicycle, a complete and refined unit, and Sem
Abrahms and company back up their products. Besides, Sem and Teresa Abrahms are
very good people and they ride —alot! There are other 26" candidates out there
but in my opinion the Sem and Pashley, in that order are major continders.

Good Luck, Mike
