Busting my wheel

By doing some hop-on-wheel and some crack idling, I’ve managed to set my wheel off center for two of my unis (a freestyle, and even a trials one). I do both these tricks with extra strain on the left side of the wheel (left-crack idling, and when I hop on the wheel I used to push a bit towards the left side of the uni).

So I’m wondering how bad this is, and how to fix it. Is this what is called an out-of-true wheel?

Thanks in advance for any responses…

Charles

I don’t know how bad this is, but in order to compensate for the bend, you might try to crank idle with the uni backwards (or learn it with your right foot as well), and/or hop on the wheel and push it towards the right side of the uni, so as to get it back to it’s center… These are just some ideas, although I’m not sure would actually worsen your unicycles wheel… what do other ppl. think?

G-luck,

Before you do any wheel truing check it isn’t just that the bearings have
got out of the right place.

If not then look at www.sheldonbrown.com for truing a wheel or repairing a
wheel or something like that.

Now I even got my wheel to click several times per revolution… specially when going slow or idling… what could be the cause of this? Should I worry about it?
Thanks,

I don’t know what’s going on in this thread when What_Am_I? asks a
question as Charles, answers it himself as selrahC, then asks a
follow-up question as ~C .

Anyway, the clicking wheel may well be your (whoever’s :-)) bearing. I
am not very knowledgeable on these things but I suspect it has to be
replaced.
