HOOOOO WEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
WE’S GONNA HAVE OURSELVES A COOK-OFF!!
Flame thrower…
Nah, bug zapper.
And a six pack.
a hose?
Ok Foxworthy…
What does having a six pack have to do with it? You’re going to flex your muscles and firghten the beetles?
I don’t think so!
oooooooooooooH!!! we’re talking about beer aren’t we?
That’s disturbing Jagur…reminds me of the old 1950’s-1960’s horror films
gasoline+match=no more bugs (or house for that matter)
jagur…
I use this stuff I got a gardening store called Earl May. We have lady bugs bad here for the last couple years. They just swarm all over and you can’t even leave the house. Then they get in the house and cover the walls and windows. They stink too. Anyway, this stuff I use kills 'em and then keeps them away for a while.
Mojoe
No Mo Joe! Give me a Break.
Jagur… What you have is a bad picture. I would suggest using something like bifen. You can call me Monday at 800-877-7290 and I can take care of you. There are a couple of bugs that have the same shape as the one you posted, I’ll post some pics later. By the way the Bifen would take care of just about all of the problems you have dealt with in the past.
I am just offended that you guys have a world renowned expert in bug control amongst you, and you go to the local hardware store for your solution.
Mojoe… Check out this link. Ladybug Control
If they have red and black they are definitely the last pic. This is just a small sample of what they could be, though the last would be the most common.
Sorry Bugman…
I was at that website last summer and thought about getting some Cypermethrin, but I never got around to ordering it. Then, I needed something in a hurry later, so I just got some local stuff. Although it does not mention ladybugs… it works for them. I was worried about it killing my scorpion and so I had to be careful about where I sprayed it. It dosen’t help that I live right on the edge of a soy bean field and the bugs just blow in on the wind. I notice that there will be no ladybugs at all a couple blocks away from me. Hopefully I won’t have the problem with them this year as I’m moving into town this summer. I also bombed the attic with some canned bug bomb stuff, and I keep moth balls up there to help with the bats.
If I could only score some of the Permithrin stuff we used in the Gulf War…man that stuff killed flys dead. We were suppose to apply it to our wet clothing, to keep away ticks, but we just sprayed it in the tents like a fogger and watched the flys drop. Of course, we stayed in there too. Might be the cause of Gulf War Syndrome for all I know. (cough cough)
cheers and beers…Mojoe
BTW… we call them red and black ones box elder bugs. We get them too, though not as bad as the lady bugs lately.
Mojoe
bugs , yeah its the last one. its called the box elder around here i guess.
sounds like they would be really hard to banish forever since they are in the trees and every nook and cranny.
Don’t worry about the scorpion, I had a Scorpion in an aquarium in the store for 5 years. Now he is in a jar of alcohol. Not that kind Jagur. If they don’t die there they ain’t dying anywhere.
As for Permethrin, I sell the strongest made, still doesn’t hold a candle to Cypermethrin. It’s likely the carriers in the aerosol were providing the quick knock down as opposed to the permethrin. The reason they used permethrin in the foggers was for residual more than knock down.
As for the syndrome, look elsewhere like vaccines. Many, Many more people have been exposed to the pest control products than us GI’s, and they don’t have any GWS symtoms… but I am sure few other have had those mystery vaccinations we got. Well you got anyway. I avoided those needles whenever possible.
I do have this annoying cough though. Should be gone by June. Damn allergies.
