I looked into it at one point but driver support didn’t seem too great - I saw no compelling reason why I would use that over linux.

I dont know about you, but were I ever to get the human equivalent of BSD(CJD) i would be less than thrilled

I just ordered a web-hosting machine that has FreeBSD (from www.theplanet.com). I chose FreeBSD over Linux. I’m not sure why. Just a gut feeling. Did I do the right thing? It will basically just do web, email, and name server. Only access is through telnet or SSH, so I don’t care about the X Window system or any other bells and whistles that Linux distributions seem to focus on. I just need a stable, secure server. Did I make a good choice?
