Since my terrible 12 ft. dismounting accident (fractured foot and lower back
bone) on October 3, 1999, I am doing very well. I attend physical therapy 3
times a week now. They had me set goals for the therapy. I could only think of
two: To be able to ride my unicycle and dismount safely. My therapist are having
a great time with this. I am their first unicyclist patient. I do alot of
stationary bike pedaling and heal lifts. Next, the hard part…to jump off
something (preferably shorter that 12ft.). I hope to be riding with the Redford
Township Unicycle Club within a month. Gerard {:O)

dismount a 6 ft. (wrong). Let me say that again…WRONG! I should have rode to
a telephone pole or tennis court fence and held on for dear life until >a fireman with a life basket brought me down. Seriously now, you do mount
the 12ft. with the aid of a friend at the bottom holding the tire securely to
the telephone pole or fence (facing directly towards the same) as you
(foolishly) climb up the little metal steps welded to the backside of the frame.
Please don’t. >

How are you supposed to dismount from a 12’ unicycle? I’m still getting over the
fear of my 6 footer (feet to ground = 3.5’, so I know I shouldn’t really be
worried). Your feet are 9’ from the ground! Also, how do you get on to the uni
(don’t give me any freemounting BS = ) ?
