Hello, after going for a ride yesterday I found out my seat was feeling a little different. I took my new Fusion seat apart and found out that I broke my seat stiffener.(That is the little medal piece on top of the base but under the padding right?) What can I do? What could I buy or use to replace it?

2 options:
1: buy a carbon fiber seatbase, it lasts longer but costs ±50€.
2: re-inforce the seat, don’t know how to do that but if you search on “re-inforce seat” then you will find it.

I guess a Miyata plate wouldn’t work on the KH Fusion?

Stiffener plate. I looked at my other seat and thats how it broke too. Ugh.

I don’t think I have owned a KH seat that has not had a broken plate.
Just buy the carbon fibre seatbase: no stiffnerplate, stronger and lighter.
It’s 50€ but it’s worth it.

Would be really great if they would sell the KH seat with a CF-plate right from the manufacturer. Municycle.com sells a KH-seat with CF-plate, but the included assembly costs are very high. Doing it at the factory in Taiwan where they build the rest of the seat would cause no extra cost (apart from the CF). Given that the KH-seatbase is not a very good construction to begin with that would be great.
P.S. My original plate is broken too, and I am not exactly a DIY-fan (neither skill nor motivation).
News flash: At least half of all KH seats older than 1 month have a broken plate. At least.
