It’s not brass, high grade steel has that gold look. It’s the same material that the thomson seatpost hardware is made out of.
If you meat-fisted noobs wheren’t over torquing your clamps this wouldn’t happen.
broke mine in italy, same prob. Mine hadn’t been off since 1st built outta box from UDC.
2nd time in italy and it fails, and i didn’t overtighten. It physically warped. Brass is very soft for a metal.
