Apart from this I have no further knowledge of the individual. Thought it was interesting.

Wha’?? “commuting is fine… I have other things for life.”

Unicycling is my life.

He seems to be a good young ambassador for unicycling! It’s great to see kids who get into unicycling of their own accord, rather than having a friend or family member or club that encourages them to start riding (true for this lad and for @ManiusTerentiusPullus I think - kudos).
I will try to remember the next time someone asks me how to learn to unicycle that you go ‘from tree to dog poo bin’ - it genuinely resonates with the UK riding experience on paths in towns :joy:

I’ve never heard from people having a friend or family member that encourages riding unicycle. Mostly it is the family just laughing when you talk about wanting to learn unicycling.

In NL we don’t have dog poo bins. Dog owners are expected to put the stuff in a bag and dispose of it at home. Naturally nobody cares and all park lawns are covered in dog shit. (Note to self : stick to the paths in the park)

Certainly true for me..

I got this AI companion, just to see how it works. I also told it about my unicycling and it just replied it was strong enough to deal with the humiliation of tumbling off the uni in public. All that came out of it was negativeness.

He might be from JUST (Stockton club) because he lives pretty nearby and UDC is in the North East. It’s pretty difficult to ride anywhere in the area without bumping into someone who is involved with either or both.

We don’t have as many as we used to as it’s accepted in normal public waste bins now. It was always put in normal public waste bins before whether that’s where they wanted it or not. Dog poo bins were just a weird extra bin that you weren’t meant to put general litter in.

Having bins doesn’t stop some people from letting their dogs shit all over the place with no attempt to clean it up though. Based on my experiences I’d say you probably have it no worse with no bins!

… and then you get the ones who actually pick it up and tie it in a bag and then leave the bag lying on the ground, or hang it on a fence or something. They probably excuse that by complaining about a lack of bins…. it is a strange world.
