Bringing back lunch on the uni!

I’m just having mountains of fun on my uni now that I can ride and
often pull off a free mount or two when I need too!
Yesterday, down at the beach, I rode all over the nearby park, right
through the grassy fields, along the gravel paths and along some
little trails. It was such a blast.
Then out onto a large open unused dock to practice some freemounts and
try some figure 8’s to hone those turning skills. It was such a
beautiful sunny day here in Vancouver, B.C. and with the ocean in the
immediate background and the mountains in the distance I felt just so
lucky to be out riding my uni…too cool, actually riding, yes,
riding a uni…wahooooo!!!
Well, then I got hungry and knew that my uni pal who was just managing
some long free rides and had been working at that for a while on the
dock, would be hungry soon too. So I grabbed up my backpack, rode a
kilometre or so along the beach side path to the concession stand.
Loaded up with lemonades (in plastic bottles… just to be on the safe
side) and a couple to dressed up Veggie Dogs I bravely headed back to
deliver lunch. No UPD’s all the way and I was able to ride right up
to where my friend was resting in the shade, do a graceful discount
with the uni to the front, a la level one, and deliver lunch.
Yesssssssss!!!
I was a really great moment for me and made me think back to when
Jason posted on this board about the first time he was able to uni to
the liquor store and ride back with a six pack. Now I know how you
must have felt Jason!

Well, better go now, there’s more riding to be done!

Cheers,
Erin

Is it just me or did anyone else read the subject line and think this was about bringing lunch back up ? I was almost certain that was going to be the punch line when I read “lemonade and veggie dogs”, yuck :astonished:

Have fun!

no graeme, it was just u
the rest of us had done something simmilar and knows the feeling well
it’s nice to c it is contagious

I know where you’re coming from. The first time I rode with anything in my hand it was a coffee. I found that mounting was the most difficult thing. Although it took a few attempts I eventyally got home. My next ride was noticably improved (probably cause I could use both arms for balancing).

“Oohh Yeeaah!” Kool Aid man

Hi Erin,

It feels great, yea. I’m not sure I would pulled it off for ‘veggie
dogs’ though :astonished: , but for a couple of beers… no problem.

How’s your friend progressing? Is she getting better daily?

Jason

I know what you mean. Just recently I’ve gotten to where I can carry stuff. It’s pretty nice to be able to carry dinner back from Mcdonalds.

When I picked up the box that I’m packing my uni in to fly to UNICON, I decided it would be way to diffucult to try to carry the box and walk the uni back to the house from the car, so I decided to carry the box while riding.

What I ended up with was a pretty heavy 27x27 sail. It was pretty difficult and i was wobbling like when I first started riding, with the wind telling me where to go.

Then I ran into a problem that happens to me every now and then while riding that really angers me. A car came up behind me as I was about to pass some parked cars. There definitely wasn’t enough room for me and the car to go, but the car had PLENTY of time to just pass me and go. Instead, they assume I’m going to be an idiot and ride out in front of them. So they stop, wait until I run out of room and have to dismount, then they go. This is just mildly annoying when I’m not carrying something.
