Brake for Coker Wheel

. Has anyone attempted attaching a brake to the Coker wheel?

yes, it works quite well. Try hunting on the web for brakes on unicycles, I
think a few people have posted pics of how they fitted thiers. Unicycle .com
might be a good place to try looking.

Isn’ it kind of dangerous? It sems to me that it would be much harder than
breaking by slowing down. Unicycle.com doesn’t connect.

BTW, Sarah, are you bringing your Coker to Beijing?

The brake on a coker ( at least on my coker) is used to slow the wheel, rather
than the rider. I use it on steep desents to stop the wheel running away with
me, just a little friction added to the rim really helps me to control it with
out knackering my knees. Off road with the coker the brake enables me to take
steep desents rather quicker than Paul can take them on his non braked coker. He
will be adding a brake at some point…

For a pic of Roger Davis coker brake , and mine is very similar take a look at
the UK unicycle Soure FAQ on http://www.unicycle.uk.com/unicycle_source-uk.html

I intend to take my coker to unicon, I want to do some sight seeing… And
while I might have to take the brake off for the flight, I expect I’ll bring
it withme.
