ok thanks

actually i think making a thread about it is a good idea because we will get his reactions after just getting a new uni and we will all know what the first impressions of the dx.

but thats just me.

immediate impressions can be different from long-term impressions.

I’m sure the DX is a great uni, with the stock parts it has it must be, but it would be, in my opinion much better to hear his opinion regarding the machine a few months down the road - not that we haven’t heard it before, but it would be nice to hear both for comparison.

Seems like a strong unicycle to me (I don’t have one), and from what Cody says, it is. He’s done multiple 8ft+ drops on his and it’s still holding up fine last I heard.

It’s an inexpensive trials/street unicycle [it has a splined hub] with a comfortable seat (KH [or similar?]) and a wide tire(tyre) [creepy crawler?]. Apparently the frame is a bit heavy (and is prone to breaking where the seatpost tube meets the fork/crown after VERY heavy exposure) but that’s a simple enough fix [the nimbus frames are ~$50, or if you want a lighter frame the KH is about $200].

I have had the DX for about 9 months now.

It owns.

I did end up getting the DX before the 2007 models came out, so the 2006 frame on mine broke, and was replaced with a Nimbus II frame.

If I had the 2007 frame, it wouldn’t have broke, and id still be riding with it.

The wheelset is amazing. The cranks are nice and round, 5inches long and gives me perfect torque for riding up and down hills, and gives plenty of control for doing trials lines. The cranks are nice to stand on when doing tricks like leg wraps.

The hub and rim are also splined, and stronger than what most people think. It has held up for all drops I have ever done, even the 8+ footers and some others with a bad roll out.

The Rim, is an Alex DX32 rim, which is very strong. Not as wide as some other rims, but its strong. Not once have I bent it, warped it, gotten a flat spot, or anything. After ridding it for 8ish months, I finally decided to re-true the wheel, and noticed that after all the abuse it has gone through, one section of the rim was off by 1.5mm.

The pedals are ok. Many people say they break easily, but mine are still in great shape. I grind and grab with them all the time too.

The frame, as mentioned, is heavy, but good. Specially now that the 2007 version wont break. It has a lot of clearance, but for a trials uni, clearance doesn’t matter too much.

The seat clamp is a great seat clamp. Works great and keeps your seatpost held tight.

The seat post is strong. With all the failed attempts of jumping sets ranging from 2-10, and from landing wrong on drops, it hasn’t bent.

The seat is very nice. Its a big KH styled Velo seat. It can be easily took apart, and customized to fit you likings. I cut mine down to a thinner seat.

I cant say anything bad about my DX. I am proud to be its owner.

Cody has broken a crank completely off, bent the cranks on a different one, killed the rim, broken spokes, snapped a few frames…thats just Cody though. It is good for the price.

thank you iridemymuni that monkey man musnt like me:(. thanks jerrick that helps me make up my mind. i will seriously consider buying that uni. k thanks bye

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Yeah it is a great uni for the price lol. If you dont wanna spend up to 500 and want one of hte strongest unis, then its def the way to go!
