has anybody here ever advertised on a billboard or happen to know how much
one of those ads would run? I would guess they are not the most effective
method of advertising
well, first i would think it would depend on the area, you in california
would proably be different here, about an hour from chicago… but,
someone that works with my mom has a billboard up now, i could ask what it
costs if you like…

Stop by and see if my skills and talents are up to your standards.
it’s real estate: location, location, location –
price/availability/usefulness can vary greatly over even a small distance.
It’s a question of who’s (and how many’s) gonna see it .
You could probably find one for less than the price of a small newspaper
ad. OTOH, a billboard in Times Square could cost you more than a
commercial in the Superbowl.
I’d first find the billboard(s) in the right location for your ad, then
call up the company and get a quote for that particular board. Or tell
them who you’re trying to reach. They should have demographics on who sees
a certain board (age group, income, employment, lifestyle, spending, etc.)
adauction.com used to have billboard campaigns, but the site seems to have
disappeared now.

This site of mine has available listings from YESCO in the southwest area. http://www.yesco.com/yo.html I don’t think anything is available in CA
right now, but there is a lot in Vegas and AZ. This site does not post
prices, but generally, depending on DEC ( a valuation of viewings ) the
prices can range from a couple hunded to several thousand dollars a month.
If you see something you’re interested in, let me know, and I’ll get you
the price. Most have a six month minumum contract. You may want to check a
competitor as well. Lamar www.lamar.com specializes in this type of
advertising and has locations nationwide.

YUCKKKKKKKK…they are ugly and offensive, not to mention a distraction to
drivers. They ruin the natural landscapes with their ugly screaming colors
required to grab attention. Fell free to ad it ot my basically not
existant billboard site. http://www.uglybillboards.com so we can all bow
our heads in shame. You’ve given in to advertising without a conscience.

Geez Roland, you know absolutely nothing about the outdoor advertising
industry, yet you feel compelled to voice your uninformed opinion. This
type of advertising has been around a lot longer than banner ads and has
been quantified to the nth degree. Banner advertisers are comparative
babies to the professionals in this medium.

The increase from $20.000 to $90.000 per month because of the money
burners from the dot coms
So it was agreed that the advertising value is $20000 per month. The
increase by 350% was insane
