Bike New York !

Hello Stateside pond inhabitants…

I’m surprised anybody hasn’t been talking about this before now. Is anybody
planning to do this on a uni ? If not why not !

I myself will be in the “Big Apple”, but most probably on a bike (okay a cop out
I know), cause I don’t have a 36" Coker yet.

Simon

PS - anybody know any good uni shops in NY city/or in NJ around Princetown ?

I don’t live in the area any more, but I (and friends) rode it from 1985 to
1994. Most years on unicycles, some years switching between bike and unicycle,
and once on a bike (way too easy). I rode it with Bradley Bradley and Ken Fuchs
in 1985 on big wheels. There we also met Harold Herzig from New Jersey, who
rode the whole thing on a 24" Schwinn. The route was slightly shorter then,
without the hook to the north & back after crossing into Queens, only 36 miles.
Today’s route is about 42. See a picture of Ken and Harold at UNICON III:

Rico All Stars) joined us a few times:

Javier Ruiz in 1993 (no picture). Riding up through Manhattan, across the
famous 59th St. Bridge, and then across the giant Verrazano Narrows Bridge make
the ride unforgettable. I highly recommend it if you’re in the area. Bring food
and drink!

Sorry, my shops were all on Long Island.

I am new to unicycling. I am just about at the 20 ft distance. Anyway, what is
a coker exactly?
