bike as a giraffe ?

Has anybody tried to use a bike as a giraffe ? That is with the back wheel on
the ground, sitting some where between the fork and handlebars accross the stem,
and riding ?

The only two problems I forsee are:

  1. The pedals will be slightly offset forwards (i.e. not directly below
    the rider)
  2. The bike has a freewheel - still should be able to go up hills ?

4 days to the BMW. Can’t wait.

Re: bike as a giraffe ?

This would be more fun on a fixed gear bike than a bike with a freewheel. It
would probably be possible to ride quite a wheelie on such a bike. Something
like a fixed gear mountain bike or a freestyle BMX bike modified with a
fixed gear hub.

Has anyone seen or done a routine riding a fixed gear bike like a unicycle?

Yep.

Artistic cycles are designed with a fixed wheel. One popular trick with them is
to pop into a wheelie then ride giraffe style while sitting on the frame between
the handlebars and the front wheel.
