Best MUni

Just thought it might be interesting to see what everyone thought was the
best MUni. And what everyone thought of the pashley 26" Muni?

The best MUni hasn’t been made yet, but we’re getting closer and closer with
every new model. Too bad the same amount of innovation isn’t going into
freestyle and “street” unicycles.

If I could buy anything I wanted, I would get the new DM Vortex, and a Telford.
Then I would set them up differently so one was for hardcore pounding, and the
other for fast-paced cross country riding.

Then there’s the Hunter design Dave Poznanter is working on, with the removeable
axle. But don’t know when that will be ready for market.

For the moment I have the DM ATU, and I love it. Plus, if Kris Holm can use it
for trials (like what you see in the Santa Cruz/Sea Otter pictures here):
http://www.unicycling.com/ofoto/ That means it’s more than strong enough for
anything I could possibly dish out. The first unicycle I ever had for which
that is true!

As for the Pashley 26", I know Brett Bymaster racked up thousands of miles on
his, and he likes it. I think it’s a great value for the price.

I would have to disagree that new innovation isn’t going into freestyle
unicycles.

I’ve seen lots of new custom freestyle unicycles here at TCUC. They = include
having the frame extended to the rider’s hight and custom paint jobs and such. A
lot of people have also gotten heavy duty rims for their wheels = and some have
build custom bearing holders and larger, lower crowns that = make costing and
standup tricks easer. For most people the standard 36 spoke unicycle hubs work
fine because indoor riding is a lot less stressful = on the hub than Muning.

the one thing that I would like to see better made is the seats. I like = the
standerd Miata seats (except for the color). The only problem with them = is
they aren’t strong enough. the little metal strip inside it breaks way = too
easily. I think the new carbon fiber seats look like they hold up alot better
and the people that I’ve talked to like them a lot so that is probibly a good
alternitive.
