If it’s a DM, my assumption is that it should have a DM hub and crankset.
This has a much larger spline than the Profile, something like 20 teeth vs.
at least 50? Also, based on my experience the DM cranksets don’t creak.

The Wilder will have a Profile hub/crankset (full name Profile/Poznanter
hub). Yes, it’ll be much lighter. I’m still waiting for mine…

But I will caution people against using the age stereotype. Though you can
use “advanced years” as a shield behind which to hide if you don’t want to
do big drops and insane things, there are others out there, like Bruce Bundy
and others, who show no fear and are quite capable of handling some pretty
gnarly stuff! As for myself, I like to thing I fall somewhere in between.
Some days I’m pretty chicken, but other days I’ll try a lot of things!

Speaking of stereotypes, I thought I’d continue the new convention of linking to Onion.com articles

NBrazzi,

I saw that article. It is ridiculous, but funny. It was about the only full article I liked this week, though the Yoda one was OK.

As for age, I’m a little worried I wont be able to take any drops, but I’m still quite a ways from even trying.
