Beginner Video Clips

Hi there,

a bit back I promised I’d get some clips of mounting and idling up onto
the web for beginners to look at.

I’ve finally got round to making a start on this. I only had 5 minutes
free this morning and I had to ride to work, so I did these three
simple demos on the Coker. These are of a rollback mount, a standard
mount and idling.

They’re avi files, about 500kb to 800kb each, so not very big. I’ll get
round to putting up some normal unicycle versions soon and some just
riding and other stuff ones, but there isn’t much difference between how
you ride a Coker and a normal wheel.

I’ve now forgotten to take the camera to hockey twice to try and get
some pics of better people doing some clever stuff, I’m sure I’ll
remember soon.

Hi Joe,

I’m getting 404’s on the idling and rollback vids. The standard mount came
through fine… apart from it the video itself (the caption was fine)
being rotated 90 degrees. Looks good though.

Cheers, Neil

oops, fixed now, just refresh the index.html

That’ll teach me to type file names from memory.

The files are on their side because the camera was held on its side and my
wonder “VideoImpression” program doesn’t do that.

Does anyone know of a free program that is any good for editing video,
(well at least lets you rotate video 90 degrees), I’m not fussed about it
to buy anything, but if there was a free editor.

Mini Videos

Hi:

Picture worth thousand words. Thank you. I’m starting to get it. New Cokerhead

Today I downloaded Full Motion Video from
http://www.f-m-v.com/features/features.shtml. I think it is a 15 day trial
version. Must admit I haven’t used it yet but from the text on the site it
seemed quite capable. (Allegedly it can edit MJPEG avis in OpenDML format
which is what I need it for.)

A free download of Image Force is here: http://download.cnet.com/downlo-
ads/0-10077-100-4134733.html?tag=st.dl.10000-103-1.lst-7-3.4134733 but
it’s not as good I think.

hmmm

I click on the link and then clicked on the “idleing coker” button and it sent me to a page with a still picture of you idleing, it was sideways, so I became resourseful by tipping my head 90 degrees to the side and wacthing it like that. strange huh?

Joe,

Thanks for the images! I would still be trying to pedal-down mount the Coker, if not for the illustration. Also, thanx for showing me that roll backs and iddling are not impossable. You Rock!

To answer my own question, I couldn’t find anything that wasn’t horrible
and would both rotate video, add text and work correctly with videos from
my camera, so I wrote myself a quick video clip editing toy which is up on
my videos page in case anyone wants it. Only does exactly what I needed,
so probably missing lots of nice features.

Joe, Uh, what is the URL for that? I don’t have the earlier post any more.
My dad took a few movies with his digital camera tilted vertically and
until now (hopefully!) we haven’t been able to rotate them.

Thanks!!! Jeff
