Beer yes, but don't call it a B*KE!

The Dutch seem to be having troubles riding their “bike”.

I think there would be fewer problems if they called it for what it is: a Beer Quadracycle.

In Dutch this is called “Bierfiets”. “Fiets” is a generic word for a human-powered cycle, be it with one, two, three or (apparently) more wheels. (A unicycle is “eenwieler” or “eenwielfiets”. Usually a “fiets” has two wheels, and in that case would be properly translated as “bike”. That is where the confusion stems from.

As an example, I own a cup from winning third place in a unicycle time trial piggybacked on a “footbike” event in the Netherlands. Only after the prizes were handed out we saw that we’d had to educate them.

Dude… those are awesome!

Words cannot describe what an incredibly awesome idea that is.

We could even market it as a weight loss strategy!

Hahahahaa awesome idea.

I wonder what their max speed is? Those are an awesome way to get around.

That could be a fun and “green” way to go sightseeing.
