Bearing Removal Help!!!!!

I have just rebuilt a Monty wheel based on a Semcycle hub. I pounded the
bearings too far onto the hub, and now I can’t remove them. I have a good
bearing removal tool, but I can’t get under the bearing at all. I tried
hammering the bearing from the other side–and killed that bearing.

I know DM Engineering made a bearing removal tool that clamped around the
bearing from the outside. Unicycle.com doesn’t have any. I wonder whether
anyone in the Seattle area has one I could borrow–or whether those of you with
more technical savvy than I have could offer advice.

Re: Bearing Removal Help!!!

Thank you John Drummond and Unicycle.com. John let me borrow his DM Engineering
Bearing Remover, and it did the trick. It is a very cool tool for getting in
behind bearings when they’ve been pounded on too far.

My Monty wheel is back in action.
