I dont believe in the whole manly part of it, cause i can easily thrash on the guitar, and play the sweetest chords and arpeggios from the bass, and vise versa.
bass takes more finger strength and finger streching, plus, if your playing frettless, it’ll take more personal pitch to play right. I gotta buy one sometime…
Well what he means by manly is that a bass is ocvates lower. It produces a much lower note, which somewhat resembles a deep voice compared to a high voice. Deepness of female voice < deepness of male voice.
That im also not sure about. Its true for some people, but not everyone. Both instruments require finger strength, endurance, and, depending on what youre playing, stretches. Big stretches.
Playing anything fretless requires a bit more accuracy, no matter what instrument, then again, a lot of people like playing fretless because of the slight outoftune sound that can get from it.
I have a six string bass, so I guess I get the best of both worlds. I like taking guitar solos and playing them on bass, it sounds sweet. Sweep picking is a bitch though.
why even compare a bass to a guitar. you can get a 6 string bass too, hell you can get 12 string bass guitars as well as 12 string guitars. its basically what you feel like playing. there is no ‘better’
Which is better, muni or trials? Which is better, blue or red? It’s all personal preference, and each instrument has its own unique timbre, sound, and place in musical society.
