back from holiday - new car!

Hi all -

I went away for a week to do wedding planning in oregon - sans computer - and
got quite a bit done. Picked Champoeg State Park for the ceremony in their
little historic pavillion building (with outside covered area for the ceremony).
See some pictures here:

I can’t find pictures of the pavillion but it’s beautiful, on the willamette
river surrounded by large oak trees.

I was surprised on Friday when my fiance came down to spend the weekend with me
at my mom’s house to continue wedding planning together, when he drove up in our
new car, the LSS I raved about before. He got his mom to co-sign, they gave us a
better-than-expected trade in value for the corsica, and although we’re paying
more a month now than we had wanted to spend, it’s worth it!

Gorgeous!

I shook with excitement all day after he walked in, handed me keys, and said,
“Happy birthday!”

Re: back from holiday - new car!

Congrats! Enjoy the ride. I hope you got a good extended warranty. They are
worth gold in a few years

I agree. I always heard that extended warrantees are a rip-off, but it is in my
experience, that with the cost of car repairs today, if you only use the
warranty twice (past orig manufacturer warranty period), it will pay off. Mine
has paid off ten fold already (although I did not pay for the warranty, it came
as part of the deal). I’ve already had $2,500 worth of work done to the car
(with nothing more than a few sensors and wires replace).

BTW - I wouldn’t have bought the car without the warranty. Also, VW did get my
letter, and called me. We spoke about the situation and have agreed that the
problems were cause by misdiagnosis and faulty repair work on the first 2-3
visits. They have taken responsibility for this, and have said that any futher
problems will be handled immediately, through Volkswagen of America Corp, and
not the dealer. (I have this in writing).

I dunno about other warranties, but we did get a power train warranty because my
fiance’s dad thought the car exhibited behavior that meant the cvsomething
joints were going out on the transmission. Really we found out that it was just
the traction control activating. :stuck_out_tongue: But we have the warranty nonetheless.

Re: back from holiday - new car!

Good deal. I also heard on the news last night about sending your complaint
details to the manufacturer via certified mail. By law they have to keep a copy
and that is proof in court.

Did that and also made them send a receipt notification back on corporate
letterhead
