So I’ve got quite a bit of a driving commute to work each day, often I’m not in the mood for music but would like some form of entertainment.
Can anyone recommend any interesting audio books?

I’ve really enjoyed Bill Bryson’s “A Short History of Nearly Everything” and “Shakespeare”, both read by the author.
I’m currently listening to “The Motorcycle Diaries”, read by a gentlemen with a suitable accent, which takes a little while to get used to.
I’ve also listened to some classic novels, Tess of the D’urbavilles springs to mind, and some more contemporary fiction.
I prefer the nonfiction stuff myself.
Harry Potter! In America Jim Dale reads them it’s great.
Also Bill Clinton’s My Life. He reads it himself.
May I recommend listening to a course on anything you may be interested in learning about by “The Teaching Company”? I’ve been listening to the course “The Great Ideas of Psychology”, and so far I’ve found it to be very interesting and rewarding. It’s basically a college course in your car, without the homework or exams :). They have courses on just about anything.
If you’re not into that idea, I’ve also listened to some of “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland”, and that’s also a good one. I usually listen to it on long commutes when I’m not in the mood for music or Psychology. I haven’t had the chance to hear much of it, but that seems like it would be a good choice too, if you aren’t into the idea of reliving school again while driving
Thanks for the suggestions so far everyone. I’ll definitely look into your suggestion Pele and I’ll try and get my hands on “A Short History of Nearly Everything” as suggested by Gild.
I’m still in college, I just have this semester off while I work a full-time internship but I’ll never stop wanting to learn.
I like to listen to audio tapes of pop-up books.
…and coloring books.
Librivox has free public domain audio books.
Also, I’ve used Festival Speech Synthesis before to roll my own audio books from text.
I’m listening to Not For Sale by David Batstone. It’s about modern slavery.
You might also enjoy This Week in Photography… weekly podcast about, um, picture taking, by serious/professional photographers. I’ve never listened meself, but another photo-minded friend said it was pretty good after I suggested it to him.
