Are you washing your hands properly ??

With the Corona virus in mind, I think we have to be more careful about how we wash our hands.

Here is my opinion for what it’s worth.
After washing your hands do not use your clean hands to turn off the tap. There are germs on tap which means you are picking up some of the germs which were on your hands when you began washing.
My solution to this problem to this problem :-
I have a clean disposable plastic cup nearby. After washing my hands I place the cup over the tap and use it to turn off the tap. The cup acts as a protective sleeve over the soiled tap.
The cup can be used repeatedly because the outside of the cup remains clean when used this way.
If you find this this helpful please let me know.

I just let my dog lick my hands.

Actually, they are now training sniffer dogs in the U.K. to detect people who are infected with Corona virus Covid 19. They should be ready for action in about six weeks time.

Will they lick their hands after they sniff them? That would be dual-function.

Seriously, it’s our saddles we have to worry about, right?
Anyone get pink eye?

Don’t forget to also wash your groceries and any containers they come in and discard the bags or keep them outside. Also wipe down surfaces regularly. And get out of the habit of touching your face.

I just let my dog lick all of that, too.

Thanks Terry. You understand how serious this is.

Harper this a very serious subject

Covid 19 is a weak virus but it is also a HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS virus. Because it is weak people may be infected without knowing it . As a result, infected carriers are not taking due care to avoid infecting others around them. (The Trojan horse comes to mind. )This allows the virus to travel freely from one person to others around them.

Some people suggest herd immunity but this would cost too many lives as with the Spanish flu. To give you an example of how such a highly contagious virus might develop, check tihs out :-

, grains of wheat.
The wheat and chessboard problem (sometimes expressed in terms of rice grains) is a mathematical problem expressed in textual form as:

If a chessboard were to have wheat placed upon each square such that one grain were placed on the first square, two on the second, four on the third, and so on (doubling the number of grains on each subsequent square), how many grains of wheat would be on the chessboard at the finish?

The problem may be solved using simple addition. With 64 squares on a chessboard, if the number of grains doubles on successive squares, then the sum of grains on all 64 squares is: 1 + 2 + 4 + 8 + … and so forth for the 64 squares. The total number of grains equals 18,446,744,073,709,551,615, much higher than most expect.

With such a vast amount of people being infected, even with a low percentage mortality rate the amount of deaths could be huge. That is why governments are forcing people to isolate.

The U.S. is going to be devastated by this virus because Trump hasn’t responded quickly and decisively. He doesn’t seem to grasp how fast this virus will surge throughout the U.S. In my opinion New York should be quarantined but Trump has dithered on this due to political pressure.

No problem, the Chinese coronavirus is not passed from dogs (or cats) to humans or vice versa.

Please refrain from using racist wording in this forum. Thanks!

I don’t know, Terry. My dog is half Shar Pei. Should I be concerned?

Not racist. Neither is is referring to the Hong Kong flu, German Measles, Spanish flu, West Nile virus, Ebola, etc. The MSM called it the Chinese Coronavirus more than 50 times until the Chinese communist dictatorship government demanded that they stop using the term.

Do you think the Trojan Horse could eat that much wheat or rice? Which is less filling, wheat or rice?

Watch Out, This Virus goes right thru thin skin!

Just “atomic” bomb the faucet. I do this:
1.) Turn on the faucet. Yeah…assume it’s got virus on the handle. Now the virus on your hands.
2.) Push the soap dispenser. Oh yeah…that, too. Virus there. Now you got more virus on your hands.
3.) Lather up your hands with soap. Anything on your hands are dead. RIP virus.
4.) Touch handle. Yeah lather that up, too. RIP virus on handle.
5.) Wipe your face with lather, too. RIP anything resting on your face prior to washing. It gets on when you scratch/touch your face.
6.) Wash off with water. Goodbye virus(…if you were ever there in the first place…but…just in case, right?)
