I’ve been really into jazz lately, but I have a hard time finding. Thanks.
If you like Bass:
Jaco Pastorious, Victor Wooten, Stanley Clarke…
Some of the 3 best bassists ever.
Depends on what you’re looking for. For contemporary Jazz, you can’t go wrong with the Marsalis family, but I prefer older jazz. Try Charlie Mingus, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Luis Armstrong, Thelonious Monk, Quincy Jones. There are a lot of great artists out there, but there are also those that really suck, so you have to be careful.
You might try Keith Oxman, GREAT jazz musician.
Oh, and NEVER dowload jazz.
Andrew Carter… a regular on this site im pretty sure has a jazz band… i may be wrong but i pretty sure…

Re: Anyone know of any good Jazz musicians or bands?
Start with this:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000002IO8/102-4976415-7452169?v=glance
And some of the other 3 best bassists ever:
Ron Carter, Neils-Henning-Orsted-Pederson, Charlie Haden
And one who, like Jaco, really sits in a place by himself: Edgar Meyer.
Charlie Hunter
Charlie Hunter Trio
Charlie Hunter Quartet
Charlie Hunter Quintet
…for jazz-funk.
Andrew
And Marcus Miller!!
Roy Hargrove is good, Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, Buddy Rich big band, Gene Krupa Big band, John Coltrane, Thelonius Monk, T.S. Monk, The Bad Plus, Rahsaan and his Arkestra, ahh many more.
I am a jazz drummer, jazz is my favorite music alongside hip hop, I don’t like crunk hip hop. Good hip-hop like the Roots, Mos def, Talib Kweli, Common.
“Channel One Suite” is my favourite. Any song/album suggestions for the Gene Krupa Big Band? I’m a jazz-funk drummer.
Cheers,
Andrew
Hey thats cool I just got back from my drum lesson now!
Uhh a good GEne krupa big band album. Is Krupa and Rich, it has a lot of Gene Krupa drumming and his big band

Frank Sinatra has a few real jazzy songs. Dean Martin, too.
Weather Repor, if you like fusion and if you like Wayne Shorter, Jaco Pasorstorius, and Joe Zawinul
