On my way to my usual uni street ride in Ottawa I picked up an 01 Haro Revo for $5. I’ve been fixing it up and wouldn’t mind doing some flatland thinking now that I have one wheel skillz it’ll help.
What I’m wondering is is there any other uni riders that are into BMX and if so what is the best BMX forum and where can I find some good BMX flatland vids(other than googlevideo). (I haven’t been into BMX since b4 the internet)
I like to watch mostly flatland, but I think to do vert stuff you would need a big halfpipe.
But you know some people are good at it. I definitly think that uni would help it some but I don’t know, I don’t even know if I have ridden my bike at all since uni’ing.
O man I’m so jealous, I was thinking about picking up a bmx but due to the coker I just can’t afford one. If you do a quick search for flatland on these forums you can come up with some great links that will show you some cool tricks and how to do them.
How did you get such an amazing deal? Let me know if you see another one
Hey there!
Im into (well I used to be) BMX. Hence the name! I have found that uni dosen’t help at all! Although its helps a bit for manuals, I find that im not as scared of over balancing and can lean back further without getting scared!
I never used any BMX forums, so , sorry can’t help you there. I was never into flatland much anyway, although I can flatland tailwhip.
i flatland BMX… now i am riding the Dk signal 06… the fourn i go to some times is www.bmx-forum.com the only part i go to is the flatland secton. its not as good as this forum tho.
Next up (after making subtitles from German to English) an interview with the Swiss winner Karin Bleile (who -as BMX girl- asked me why I -as unicyclist- wasn’t in Langenthal yet!).
If she would’nt had been too busy on organizing a skategirl summercamp, she would have visit last unicon as as well.
Also in stock; all male flatland finalists and as well the halfpipe (including Simon Tabron and Mat Hoffman).
Will be up after cutting. Give me a week or so.
For the BMX lovers:
all flatland pro’s final runs -except 1- of the BMX masters in Koln (Germany), are now online under § BMX.
Also I had a short met with Martti Kuoppa who’s one of my biggest inspirations. A couple of years ago on the mens restroom of a bikeshow in Amsterdam, he came up to me to tell me he had great repects for my unicycle-skills. Knowing he won the x-games multiple times, that was one of the biggest compliments I ever got.
My son and I both race BMX. He does some jumping too. Been at the BMX for about 5 years now. I got him into unicycles as a way to cross train and develop better balance… now he’d rather ride his uni than race haha. Oh well…
Here’s the last decent pic I got of him. He was only 8 years old here…
