Considering going to a no milk/no dairy diet.
Anyone here do it? What happened?
I used to drink a lot of milk. Then I joined the Navy moved away from california and I hardly ever have milk or any other dairy except for cheese once in a while. I gained a lot of weight and lost interest in unicycling. I am going to go buy some milk tomorrow and start drinking milk all the time again and see what happens. I really miss that California milk, it was the best.
No, why? What is you’re motivation.
What’s so special about California milk? Unless you are talking about RAW MILK!!!
I stopped drinking milk years ago, but still have cheese and ice cream and stuff like that occasionally.
It was something I read about the natural (cow) growth hormones that can crow a calf into a two ton bull in the space of a year that our system’s can’t handle. Clogs up the lymph system, blah, blah, blah.
I wasn’t paying too much attention, I just stopped drinking glasses of milk and cut down on other diary.
I’m still here and haven’t gotten any fatter, so I reckon it was a good move, for me anyway.
only drinking soja / rice milk,
missing nothing.
is there anything toi miss?
I think its not a diet - since i have just 3 - 5 KG to much:p
Happy cows come from California. http://www.realcaliforniamilk.com/ It’s the best milk in the world.
I don’t drink milk… I do eat dairy but I’m not obsessed with it to the point that I make sure its in a meal. You don’t really need to replace milk with anything, drink good clean water
As far as soy milk goes, it’s ok to drink it occasionally but it’s a highly processed food and you should avoid processed foods as it really screws with your ability to regulate blood sugar after a while. I lectured about this the other day in my nutrition class. Give it up, nothing is going to happen
Here in the States I have noticed that a lot of milk is now being advertised as coming from cows that were not given hormones. Just wondering, do you who do not drink milk and do not eat a lot of dairy products take a calcium supplement? I would think as unicyclists it would be imperative to have the strongest bones possible.
I don’t take any supplements.
Unless whisky counts?
I wasn’t talking about the added hormones that cows were given at one point, I’m talking about natural cow-hormones.
Sorry for the misunderstanding. I have been drinking milk my whole life, usually a couple gallons a week, and have not experienced any negative side affects but I assume it depends on the person.
Pretty much.
It seemed like a good idea at the time and I just haven’t been motivated to either examine it fully or to go back to drinking milk.
Given that I talk for a living, the phlegm-producing qualities of milk doesn’t exactly endear it to me either.
I happen to just really like the taste.
I’ll make you a deal, you can have the milk in my allocation and then I’ll have all the olives in yours.
-or asparagus
-or sushi
-or Marmite
Always had raw milk when I was a kid, knowing from exactly which cows.
When I became older I older I swopped to supermarket (fat) milk.
A couple of years ago totally stopped any dairy goods (except deserts).
What happened after I stopped?
I kept alive, and still never broke any bone.
Though I think I may have become somewhat intolerant against milk products now.
But whatever you do, stay far away from any soy!
What’s wrong with soy?
I was allergic to milk when I was little, but the allergy has mostly died down now… I still don’t drink milk out of habit, and I don’t really like the taste of it.
I probably haven’t had a glass of milk in over a dozen years!
I’ll still eat dairy products like cheese and ice cream, but in my cereal I use soy milk.
Pretty much the entire soy market in hands Monsanto.
Spend 1.48 hours of your life and watch a documentairy that unfortunely is no fiction.
I started to use orange juice with fust, but my cereals are more like muesli.
I don’t drink milk because I don’t like neither the taste nor the texture. And we don’t drink milk here like americans do. We only have one liter bottles, jars, etc. (whatever they call it) and my family has 5 members. It usually goes bad before it’s over.
I don’t understand how americans can drink SO much milk. It’s just bizarre. Maybe because of the lack of real fruit juices… Then it’s either soda or milk.
Milk only with cereal, cakes, cookies, and ice cream. But don’t you dare try to take away my cheeses!
How much milk do you think we drink??
