I didn’t do anything elaborate. But on the day that I was leaving with 2 other people for my 4 day trip (In my car with my camping gear) they called me in the morning and I told them I could no longer go, because as I was leaving the house I saw my cat, and he just looked so sad that I had to stay and keep him company. (Yes they believed it) “I’m really sorry, I need to wash my cat”… They were angry for a little bit haha.
Then when I picked them up for the 6 hour car trip, I had switched the car radio to the most honkey-tonk country station I could find and told them “Just so you know, we only listen to one thing in this car, and that is COUNTRY”
I put all the clocks in the house 15mins ahead the night before. In the morning when my wife was rushing out the door, piece of toast in mouth, I told her she had an extra 15mins to relax.
The night before I was deciding how long to set the clocks ahead and when to tell her. An hour fast? Let her show up to work with noone around? I decided 15mins and tell her before she left was my safest bet.
Must start thinking of something much bigger for next year…
I like the “nice” pranks. I had a fantastic idea for a prank, which was to go over to a neighbor’s house early in the morning and rake all of their leaves, leaving a note in their door saying “April Fools!” (I couldn’t think of anything more creative).
I had this idea in October, but I just realized a few weeks ago that there are no leaves in Spring. Oh, well…
