i get jealous of all you guys who have more than 1 uni and can do awesome tricks.all i got is a jugglebug 18 inch! anyone else in this situation? i have learned 2 ride backward, one footed, wheel walking, unispins, ledge riding, grinds, riding seat out, and a few other tricks w/ this thing. THIS THING HAS STOOD UP TO ALL MY ABUSE!!! oh, and i have taken this thing off 3 ft. drops regularly and all i did was bend a pedal shaft slightly. that thing is pretty durable.
Im not quite in your situation since i dont have a juggle bug. But i do have one uni. My friend on the other hand has almost 4 uni’s.
I have a trials uni, and a coker, and a BC wheel…
Nice. By me only having one uni i meant that i only ride one of them. Yeah i need to get a muni but right now i just have two trials and a broken savage.
I have only 1 unicycle, a 20" savage that I can ride, but if I try anything interesting on it, the seat falls off. Also, even if I’m just riding, the seat will come loose and then turn at a 90 degree angle making it alot more challenging. Hopefully I’ll be getting a Kris Holm freeride for christmas.
Our very first unicycle was an 18" yellow Jugglebug. We gave it to our boys for Christmas 2000. We also bought a 20" blue Jugglebug soon thereafter and they both were quite tough little uni’s. For better skills though, we recommended 20" Torkers for new riders which also turned out to be quite durable. Since then, we’ve had an array of some 25-30 unicycles. Most were fairly durable.
I have a red 16" jugglebug and yes, it has been through alot, including my 360spin practice. It is very durable and I’m surprised the plastic wheel has’nt broken yet.
I only have one uni - 24" qu-ax.
I do everything in on it, even freestyle. It’s awesome. But I am planning on getting a 20" KH eventually.
Probably almost everyone here started off with one unicycle. Some of them were a lot worse than yours, apparently. If I’d ever tried to grind on my old Troxel (not that it could get up enough speed), it would literally “grind” away the pedal and one-piece crank. A 3’ drop would have created the letter “D”.
Where you go from your first unicycle is up to you. If you go nowhere, it’s not anyone else’s fault. Now, the selection of unicycles out there is amazing! I can’t even imagine trying to choose a second unicycle as a beginner compared to my own experience. In my day we had Schwinns (20", 24" or Giraffe), no-name Japanese and Taiwanese unicycles, and if you knew about them, a cool new unicycle called the Miyata. That was about it.
ha. man youre really good already. dont worry inspiration yields success. dont listen to people who are gonna try to give you a bunch of advice on this and that man, uni is all a flow and all about you. i guarantee youll get better and better.
How do you have almost 4? Does that mean he has 3 or 3 and part of another?
I have 3–a 20" miyata, a 24" Bedford muni, and a 29". In my family, I think we have 13 between us.
Dang Jethro, you beat me to it. I was wondering about that almost 4 thing too.
man you are better than me and i have a nimbus trials. i cannot wheel walk… and my grinds always stopshort of the final destination point
first you cuss out your uni then you say it’s awsome.
which is it?
Man I wish my first uni was that good.
I have 4, a tiawaneese summit another one (it was free) a nimbus hoppley and a nimbus giraffe. And yes I CAN WHEEL WALK Yeah baby.
By random rantings of an semi-unskilled unicyclist.
First uni was a sears n robuck 24-inch uni It died. I have a old Schwinn 24-inch noname 6ft giraffe 20-inch savage. resently got a nimbus hoppley 20-inch due to the rave reveiws here. Found a old free spin mag 20-inch wheel in the shed will become my first BC after hunting season. but yeah my sears uni took a beating. I killled it learning to drop off varing sized loading docks. Still can’t do a lot of tricks. Once it gets warmer here in Oklahoma City I’ll try to meet up with other unicyclist and also ride solo. A day with others 5 days solo a day of house cleaning a week
