I just signed up for their 30 day trial, and if I don’t like it I just cancel it within 30 days. And I did check on the canceling procedure, which is totally straight forward, and the “cancel” option is right there on your account page. Once you click it, you get an instant confirmation. It’s not like you have to call them and wait on hold forever, haha. Plus, Netflix has been around for a long time, and I’ve heard only good things about them. Of course, some may have a different opinion, which I’d be curious to hear.
But it seems to be a very easy and fast method of getting dvd’s sent right to your house. They come with a return envelope, postage paid, and you just send it back with regular mail, and get the next movie after that. I selected 6, including a few movies I’d like to see again, like Inglorious Bastards, Gran Torino (Eastwood is badass!) and Star trek. Should be able to watch all 6, and even more in a month’s time. They’re shipped here from a local wherehouse so it only takes like a day to get here, which is pretty convenient.
I have used Netflix for a long time. They are good, fast, just be patient depending on what you order many times it’s a long wait especially if it is a Blue-ray disc, just que up what you want as soon as possible.
Live streaming is also cool, there aren’t a lot of new movies (but there are some and it keeps changing) but there is a lot to choose from. I like the convenience and if you cancel Netflix cancels your account, not like some that keep sending movies to you anyway.
I like Netflix too much for my own good. I only have two complaints. 1) Every now and then a disc has damage and that is super annoying. They will replace it, but you get into a movie and then…fail. In my experience, it has happened more with movies than a TV series. 2) I spend way too much time watching instant Netflix. That is my own dang fault. I can’t help it. It doesn’t help that I have an iPad and can take Netflix anywhere. If you think you will waste too much time, don’t do it. If you are disciplined, it’s great.
If you have unlimited disc rentals/month you can use the instant feature of Netflix. There are not a ton of things that I like on the instant, but will find some movies and TV series that I want to watch. This summer I have watched all 7 available seasons of 24. It was fun, but I must admit that I should use my time for more constructive activities. You do need to sign up with Netflix.
We’ve used NetFlix for years. When school is in we don’t watch as many movies because of the kiddos schoolwork. So we just cancel it at the end of summer and start it back again.
Netflix seems like a very good, convenient service. TOO convenient! It’s just too easy to get carried away watching too many movies, especially the “play instantly” ones! So I’m canceling my trial next week.
(Too much of a good thing isn’t good. That’s how people get fat) :o
