I have a facebook thing but I don’t go to school, and, I have no idea what to do with the dumb thing…
That is because facebook is just a pretentious version of myspace (but yes I have both).
I actualy prefer myspace though because I have found use in myspace. At least with myspace I can find lots and lots of cool artists, and then through them find more cool stuff. I pretty much use myspace whenever I’m looking for something new.
Apparently I miss out on all the cool fads. I don’t have a myspace or a facebook, and I don’t intend to. Unlike most people, I have control over my life and am not dependent on some internet group to keep me occupied. I can log off any time I want, just watch me!

Facebook was deisgned for universities, when living on essentially a campus with 8,000 other students it is extemley useful to have all photos of you tagged and to be able to find out about anyone you need to. Just imagine meeting a girl in a club, going home and being able to check out her marital status, what she looks like when it’s not dark, who her friends are, what film and music she’s in to etc. before you decide whether to call her. This works bcos where i am virtually every student has facebook. I consider facebook more of a tool, whereas myspace is more of an entertainment i.e. you go on to surf favourite bands etc.
benjaug, in the UK you can join by region now, i don’t know if this is also a choice in other countries. i.e. if i wasnt at uni i could still join the ‘west midlands’ network.
i joined your group. mainly because ive just started writing a 3000 word essay on something i know nothing about, which has to be handed in tomorrow!
Facebook is useful when you are interacting with people at a 40,000 person school. I can instantly find out anything I need to about anyone who wants me to know. I have used facebook to find friends phone numbers, emails etc. It is good for people you meet but whose name you don’t remember. I used it once to return a wallet.
Wow, how’d you do that? It’s almost like every single thread that’s ever been on these forums is archived somewhere, and there’s some way to look through all of them using specific keywords to find ones you’re looking for.
