Well seeing as this is what I’ve been spending most of my time on recently (English Coursework ), rather than unicycling, I thought I’d share my romeo and juliet essay with anybody that might be interested.
I’m not trying to cheat or anything, but before my teacher marks it as a first draft, is there anything I could improve?
Title: Who is to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet?
Well I dunno about that…
But now I have to do a whole essay on Victorian Love Poetry in one night … but then again I might just miss the deadline and not do it.
Zyllan, whom some of you will know, managed to combine unicycling with Romeo and Juliet. There was a big combined Manchester schools production of R&J, which ran for 5 nights, on a huge specially built set. In the modern trend, this version of R&J was set against a background of some of the Cuban problems of a few decades ago. Zyllan rode the unicycle and juggled fire each evening as part of the show, followed by the cast doing a sort of dance/fight scene. Didn’t ride enough to improve his unicycling much but his Shakespeare knowledge rocketed.
If you havn;t already seen it… get your hands on a copy of teh Baz lerhman R&J film. Its visually and musicly stunning and its pretty faithfull to the text. If you get a chance to see the play for real on stage do take that as well. its a whole differnt game to reading it.
I don’t think I have read it more than once through but I’ve seen the play more times than I remember in a couple of differnt productions i worked on.
