Any help on changing a new Pashley bearing housing???

I need to replace a lollipop bearing housing on a new Pashley 26" Muni. I’ve
never even taken a crank off of any form of wheeled vehicle before let alone a
unicycle. So if there’s anyone out there with any hints or tips for taking off a
crank and / or changing said bearing housing I’d be mighty obliged for their
words of wisdom.

Neil, Do you need to replace the bearing or the bearing housing? Either way,
here is what you need to do:

  1. Acquire a crank puller. See a bike shop. You thread this device into the
    crank (that’s why there’s threads on the inside of the hole on the crank)
    and it pushes the cranks off the axle.
  2. Acquire a gear/bearing puller. See an auto parts store, they usually cost
    about $25. These things have big teeth and a screw that pulls the
    bearings off the axle. You’ll want to pull the bearing holder and the
    bearing off at the same time. You obviously need to take the frame off
    before you do this.
  3. Last, you have to knock the bearings out of the bearing holder. A screw
    driver and hammer is sufficient.

Then to replace whatever you’re replacing, just basically hammer everything back
into place. You can hammer (carefully) the bearings (definitely use new
bearings) back into the bearing holder, and then hammer those two back onto the
axle. Knock the cranks back on and you’re set.

I’ve had to do this lots of times. It’s a pain, but you can do it!
