After seeing a post from davidp referring to kb1jki it prompted me to wonder of there were any more unicycling Hams out there.

I used to be and was licensed for about 20 years, but not currently. I was interested in the technology and had some gear but never used it as much as I had expected to. I didn’t have that much to say I guess.
What kind of operating do you do? Are you into contacting people all around the world? Do hams still exchange QSL cards?
I got my advanced class license at 14, then let it expire after 10 years.
Got my WAS (Worked All States) shortly after getting my license, using an old tube-driven Heathkit connected to a giant dipole I strung through the trees in my backyard. Even got to talk to some remote islands using CW in the 40m band. Did a few fox-hunts. Several field days.
It was a fun distraction before I discovered fast cars and faster women.
I’m a current Ham. I got my Ham license primarily for flying radio-controlled planes with onboard video transmitters on them, but I also bought a handheld radio and occasionally enjoy listening to the chit chat while I’m driving. Just for fun, I upgraded to Level 2 General. I might study for the Level 3, but there’s sure a lot more material in that one, and I don’t have any background in science.
My neighbor has a humongous motorized rotating antenna on his roof that he uses to contact Hams all over the world on high frequency. If there was ever a huge natural disaster here, I’m pretty sure I could reliably get through on simplex to have him tell my wife I’m not dead. That is, if he isn’t busy working an emergency net for rescue personnel.
Cool…a few closet Hams on here then
I passed my RAE (Radio Amateur’s Exam), as it was, back in about 1990 and have been on and off the radio ever since depending on what life lets me fit in.
These days when I do operate its mainly QRP CW on HF although I am just dabbling with Satellites. I’m a big fan of the American Elecraft kits and K4VIZ keys…you have some innovative engineering in the US.
My claim to fame so far is getting a message from the Cosmonauts on the MIR Space Station as my packet radio beacon was causing them interference when they flew over Europe!
Perhaps I should try some Unicycle Mobile

I’ currently at OHM2013 that has a bunch of them here, I guess the ones that are more odd than usual. You might like to find this presentation, or check if there will be any interesting streams coming up.
