Do you have an ibanez iceman?
I’ve wanted one for a while now.
Also, are you selling any amps?
Not at the moment, i did get some amps in but i sold them on my amazon account, i should be getting some possibly in the next month or so depending on money
my brother is a guitar freak and my dad plays base. I want to learn drums.
Plectrums. That makes me laugh.
Anyways, im a guitarist. I dont need picks or pick holders, unless you have Jim Dunlop Big Stubbys, or any other picks of a 2.mm thickness.
I have some old samples at www.myspace.com/JerrickCritesMusic
i am a bass player and if you have any of those products i may be interested
do you like buckethead or dream theater?
Yes and yes.
Me and the band im in love to cover Dream Theater stuff, except I have to do the keyboard solos as well as guitar. We havent done any of the covers live yet though.
I have a question for you Jerrick, cause I don’t know much about rock music.
When you cover a song, do you play the original version note for note?
Because in jazz, you usually have your own version and arrangement of the song, so I was wondering.
And are most of the solos in rock music improvised?
Just cause I don’t know anything about rock and am feeling quite ignorant.
It depends. A lot of covers are almost note for note, and only have a few changes to fit the bands sound and style. Some bands do it note for note, and other bands, completely change the song.
Thats what i do. Cause dream theater has parts that you need a keyboardist for, or another guitarist, and you know its only me, Jordan and Luke, so we take parts out, cut parts down, and for the solos, because dream theaters solos are amazing, I do them almost note for note. Cause there are part for covers that should be exactly the same, cause they a: are just that good, or b: need to be there to keep the song recognizable.
For solos, a lot of “rock” bands out right now, the parts are very strict, and written out for the studio. And most times, what you hear in the studio, isnt what you will hear at a concert, cause some artists can pull something off after many takes in the studio, but wont try it live, but for the most part they will want it note for note.
Im like Yngwie though. All of his solos are improvised during his concerts. Even his recordings have been made up on the spot. Some of my solos wont change, like the first scale into it, or a section of sweeps, or that last note that should be hit, but in between all that I just make it all up.
hey jerrick do you cover the dream theater covers of other songs or would you rather just cover the origional?
i don’t know if that made sense or not
Do you mean do I like to play what dream theater has done a cover of, or do I like to play dream theater originals?
If that is right, then Ill answer with both. I prefer their originals though.
