i am poor and therefore am going to eat a lot of rice. does anyone here have any good sweet rice recipes using white rice? list any other rice recipes also. i would also like recipes that have little to no meat because i am poor. i spent all my money on my unicycles:D
I don’t know about rice, but white cabbage is damn cheap and really good if you know how to cook it right.
Add a little water to a pressure cooker, place cabbage in. Leave it long if you want it to me mushy and less if you want it firmer (I prefer firmer).
Apply salt, pepper and lemon.
Yummy, easy, and cheap!
cabbage+me=gas
gas=no friends
lol. i like cabbage raw with a little sugar. i’ll try adding some cabbage to my rice.
rice+steamed+bbq sauce=GOOD!!!
Put rice and milk in a bowl
Ad honey and cinnamon
stir
enjoy.
Use half water and half orange juice, add some cinnamon sticks (the actual sticks), raisins, and a couple cloves.
Best rice ever.
Then if you are feeling rich you can add some sliced beef and veggies to it if you want to go for a full meal.
Also if you are cooking rice a lot I would highly recommend investing in a rice cooker. These handy little devices are usually ridiculously easy to clean, cheaper than a good pot (usually under or around ten bucks for a small one), and you can just set it and forget it!
When I was younger and every now and then I still do this, I would mix rice and apple sauce. Its awesome. Good hot fresh rice, mixed in a bit with cold apple sauce.
I enjoy cooked white rice with milk and cinnamon sugar. But my favorite dessert is Mochi.
MOCHI:
Ingredients
* 1 cup water
* 1 cup sugar
* 1 cup mochiko sweet rice flour (rice flour)
(You can add vanilla for flavor and food coloring to make it neon pink or green).
Simply mix the ingredients till you have a nice goopey batter, and put it in a microwave safe dish, cover and microwave for 5 minutes. Wait till it’s thouroughly cooled, cut into 1" squares and roll the pices in leftover rice flour or powdered sugar if you have it.
It’s awesome, portable, and filling.
rice, butter, franks red hot sauce (as much as your preference),
rice is a good filler, not sure if should be used as full meal
well no. that’s why you add stuff to it.
so i tried the milk, sugar and cinammon thing a few days ago before this thread and it was pretty good. my rice tasted like crap though. i need to invest in a rice cooker. the microwave just doesn’t cut it.
The majority of the earth’s population will tell you different.
yes. rice is the staple of many cultures’ cuisine. plus it is cheap!
Yes a lot of the world eats rice but grains alone aren’t good. You need protein also.
I went to Cameroon, Africa this previous summer and saw a lot of kids who had what people call fufu bellies (fufu is kinda like corn meal balls). They fill themselves with fufu and they have full stomachs and are chubby and everyone thinks of them as healthy but they are really actually malnourished from lack of protein.
If you don’t eat meat you should try and mix food to make a complete protein (like rice and beans).

Edit: Oh, I learned all this junk from my mom lol:D. She studied nutrition in college
The simple Rice recipe
This is a humble food name Kanji in the “God’s Own Country”
1 Cup of rice
3 Cups of water
Boil the same until the rice is cooked.
Add some coconut milk and salt to taste.
You can add milk and sugar instead.
This is good food for all the three time.
But especially good in the night.
HA HA HA
You will have a enjoyable time in the next whole day after toilet.
