hey all,
my bro is a DJ and hes been DJing for ages, and gets gigs at mad clubs all the time, and is mates with other mad djs!
He gave me a bit of a lesson on DJing tonite, and i rekon its the funnest eva lol, so im gonna try get my skills refined so i can do some at my 18th wen he is!
But i thought i would ask if there were ne other DJ’s on this forum? just to have a chat to!
my bro DJ’s Trance to Electro, and i am more into just trance and electro/house choonz to mix, but yea!
I sometimes make small tracks in Fruity Loops, but that’s more production than DJing. I’d love to try scratching, but I haven’t got the equipment and don’t know anyone who does.
Does anybody know of a windows equivalent to Mac’s Garage Band? I LOVE that program, but I dont have a Mac.
I’ve never tried DJing, sounds fun. My brother has a scratching thing where its a spinable CD. Its pretty sweet, but its sort of hard. Sometimes I can catch a word, but most of the time its hard.
ive done a little Djing but nothing all that serious. but i agree, it is great fun. I cannot afford the equiptment and also where i live there is no demand for a dj
I found using the Numark CD/scratch player combo things amounts to heaps more fun than turntables because then i could create my own beats using fruityloops(hehe) then mix them together with other songs and such as i go.
I had a morning drive time show on community radio for about 8 years, so I guess that’s DJ-ing. Didn’t do sock hops or raves or anything like that. Just played the killer tunes of my own choosing.
I was a DJ for the “Red Onion” from '84-91. I already had club dj experience for about three years prior, and the Red Onion was considered a very sweet gig because it paid very well, and all 21 of their clubs were really popular and so all the local DJ’s and wannabees were lucky just to get auditions!
In the mid 70’s to the early 80’s I was a radio DJ and news reporter, and that was fun too! From '92 'till about '97 I had various other DJ gigs, the last of which I was an announcer for “Sunny” 106.7 in Vegas.
That was/is the number 1 station in Las Vegas and I really enjoyed that gig, but full-time was not going to happen unless one of the regular personalities quit, got fired or moved to another station; They’re all still there today!
So I started my own business in 2000 and haven’t looked back!
Hell yeah I Dj!
I manly play underground hip-hop, but I play all sorts of gigs.
Like skate parks, suspension events, fetish balls, tattoo conventions, as well as dance clubs, in addition to DJing as part of Bottom Brick an underground hip-hop group.
I also do lots of production work, manly I use proTools, but I use live instruments as well as virtual.
In addition to working with the record label DoveInk.
Yeah I Dj.
If you need any tips let me know.
sounds like ur not bad then haha! DJing is good fun, i love beat matching then droppin in the choon, it gives me a rush haha, i just gotta get the equalisers and other effects and all that other mad stuff into it, so i can start Djing for leisure and wen im out at a party wen my mates DJ so i can show em up haha
