any big new vids an other stuff

First of all, does anybody no of any new vids that are going to be realeased an i mean big vids on DVD (like universe 3 or similar)? ect.

And second, what is the point of seat angle adapters, do they change the ride, how do they make it better, what type of uni do they fit best. Do they make enough diffrence to warrent invsting in one?

thanks alot guys an gals.

stu

Seat adapters allow you to change how far back or forward your seat is tilted and can make it more comfortable as you’re sat down rather than being cradled by the saddle. I used mine on a KH seat and it made holding the seat out more comfy as the back of the seat base doesn’t curve up as much when tilted.

It gives you much more flexibility over how you have your seat and can slide it back or forwards without tiliting it if that makes it more comfy.

I have one on my muni and it makes it much nicer to ride. I want one on my 29er too.

You also have a choice of all the bicycle seat posts out there (assuming you have a suitable sized seat stem on your frame), which is far superior to the choiceof unicycle specific seat posts.

AND some rail brackets have brake lever mounts so you can of course mount a brake lever underneath your seat.

If you have the money or aren’t comfy, go for it!

As for videos/DVDs I think Jeff Groves has a DVD coming out in August or near then called Spaced Out, which looks awesome… there is a trailer somewhere in the gallery, someone may have a link to it.

Some of us Australia trials and muni riders are working on a joint project. It’ll be mainly trials with the occasional muni and looks like it’ll be really nice. Some of the stuff these guys are doing is amazing…14 stair grinds, etc, etc. That’ll only be available on DVD and will not be downloadable. Sorry, I’m not in charge of this one. If it was me I’d make it free but I only have a section in it.

Andrew

How much is it going to be andrew? I’m VERY interested! VERY!

This is a complete guess, but I’m thinking maybe $20? Around there maybe. It will be sold through Manly Cycles and of course www.unicycles.com.au .

It’s definately going to be worth buying I think, some of the stuff I’ve seen from the other guys is amazing.

Andrew

What?!? No freestyle?!?

Nah i’ll probably get it anyway.

Andrew - who is riding in it???

I’d love to see freestyle in it, but the other guys involved in it are really into that whole ‘extreme’ attitude towards unicycling. Plus when we were collecting footage, etc to only really good freestyle rider was Simon Wells (who wasn’t interested) and none of us knew about you.

The riders are:
Alex Toms, Luke Hilderbraat, Daniel Cowling - Trials and street stuff with lots of grinding and an ‘extreme’ attitude.
Dale Newbury and Nic Vevers - Much the same, less extreme in their attitude, more technical.
Me - Technical riding best sums me up. Lots of gapping and home-made trials lines, with the odd 6-7’ drop, muni, trials comp footage, etc.

So there will be three sections. It’s rather exciting.

Andrew

I think I’ll be getting it if it’s only $20! But Nick nobody wants freestyle because it’s boring :stuck_out_tongue: j/k But freestyle doesn’t make the BEST to watch on video. Street makes the best it’s just not the right style for spectators because you have to travel so much to find something to do.

Of course that’s just my opinion, I could be wrong. But let’s face it, I never am :stuck_out_tongue:

Wait nobody is gonna understand that quote unless they are from Western Australia and I think Nick is the only one and he doesn’t listen to Lukey Live. Oh well.

I personally think that freestyle is more fun to watch. That is, the extreme world champion Japanese freestyle, like Daike however you spell it, that’s pretty insane.
I think Trials/MUni is more fun to do(for me).

That’s a horribly biased point of view Robbie. Daike’s section on Universe 2 is my second favourite bit, and that’s really saying something because they’re all brilliant. And the riding I enjoy watching most on Universe 2 is not street (although it is amazing and great to watch) but Kris Holm’s muni and trials riding.

Andrew

Yeah Daike’s section is awesome, but that’s coz he’s so good. But on general I think street is better on video, but you can watch freestyle in person easier in a shorter amount of time.

so robbie, freestyle dosent look good on video, muni dosen’t look good on video, only street looks good on video… is that what you’re saying?

No I think Muni isn’t really very good for watching because you can’t see how hard it actually is, it’s just very fun and challenging (havn’t had the chance to try it).

Freestyle is the best for spectators because it can be done in one area, and also looks quite good on video, but not as good as street.

Street looks the best on video, but is the worst possible spectator style unless you have alot of time to go travelling around and that might be boring and sometimes inconvenient.

So what I’m saying is they all have their advantages and disadvantages.
